Networking
Introduction
Connect your resources securely with isolated, high-performance private networks. No public internet exposure, low latency, and full control over your internal traffic.
What is a Private Networking?
Private networking allows your cloud resources, such as virtual machines, databases, and services, to communicate with each other over an isolated internal network.
Think of it as a private LAN inside the datacenter:
- Traffic never traverses the public internet
- Resources communicate using private IP addresses
- Network access is restricted to only what you explicitly allow
- Latency is lower and performance is more predictable
Private networks are completely separate from other customers and are accessible only by the resources you attach to them.
When should I use Private Networking?
Private networking is ideal when you want secure, fast, and controlled communication between cloud resources without exposing services publicly. It’s especially useful for multi-tier architectures, internal services, and security-sensitive workloads.
Key benefits
- Network isolation from the public internet
- Reduced attack surface for internal services
- Low-latency, high-bandwidth internal communication
- Simplified security by avoiding public IP exposure
- Support for multi-tier architectures (web, app, database)
- Predictable internal traffic without bandwidth charges
- Better compliance with security and data protection requirements
Frequently asked questions
In your dashboard you can easily assign which resources are able to communicate with each other in the private network. For existing VMs you can simply add them to the private network.
Yes. Resources connected to a private network can also have public network access, unless you explicitly disable it. This allows you to combine public-facing services with private internal communication.
No. Traffic within a private network is not metered and does not count toward your public bandwidth usage.
Our private network services are completely free of charge.
To ensure your resources use the private network to communicate you have to make sure to use the private network internal IP addresses instead of the public network IP addresses. Feel free to create a support ticket if you need help or validation of your setup.
